A statement in response to media coverage this week

15th December 2017

You may have seen coverage about poverty and about our Foodbank over the last few days.

It is very important to us to state that we would never report anyone to social services if they use our Foodbank.

We have spoken to a local school this morning and to the Education board representative of the Lancashire Safeguarding Children Board and she has also confirmed that using a Foodbank would not be a reason on its own to report a family to social services.

If you or someone you know needs help please get in touch. There is no shame in asking for help if you need it and we will always welcome you warmly (and with tea and biscuits!).

You can’t get food without a red voucher from a referring agency and you can find out more at our website¬†

If you need help over Christmas please get yourself a voucher next week before our referring agencies are closed over the break so that we can help you.

If someone you know is in crisis, you can call our emergency mobile number on 07591 763 130 and we will do what we can to help.
