Donate your winter fuel allowance if you don’t need it!

4th December 2017

Winter Fuel Allowance payments are made this week, to all pensioners across the UK and it is not means tested. One of our volunteers doesn’t need his, and has kindly donated the money to the Foodbank and so it set us thinking!

If you are in receipt of winter fuel allowance and would like to donate it to a good cause, could you send it to us? We help many older people, especially in the winter time, and the money will allow us to meet our essential running costs like rent and fuel for our van, and specific food items when we run low.

Many older people are also isolated so when they come to us for food, we make them a hot drink and have a good chat with them too. We know that for some people that we see, it may be the only time that they’ve seen another person that week, so we try really hard to make them welcome and they can stay for as long as they want to.

If you would like to make a donation then you can either post a cheque made out to Morecambe Bay Foodbank or you can make a donation straight to our bank account which is with Natwest in Morecambe:

Morecambe Bay Foodbank Account | Sort Code: 01-05-78 | Account No: 42209552

If you are a UK Tax Payer you can download and print off a Gift Aid form here: Gift Aid Form

Thank you, as ever, for your support! Every penny will go to help people in crisis in the Morecambe Bay Area.
