Our Christmas Hamper Campaign

20th November 2017

This year we are running two Christmas Campaigns, our Reverse Advent Calendar and our Christmas Hamper Campaign.

There are many families who struggle financially in the Morecambe Bay area and Christmas is a very difficult time. Saying Happy Christmas is easy but, together, we can do something to make it real for these families and bring them a bit of cheer at what can be a really tough time.

By putting together a Christmas Hamper and dropping it off at our Foodbank you can contribute to one family in Morecambe having a happier Christmas. We will distribute the hampers to families in need.

To make up your Hamper please find one good-size carrier bag and fill it with the following items:

  • Chocolate Christmas log or Christmas cake
  • Children’s Christmas chocolate e.g. selection box
  • After dinner/adult chocolate (no alcohol filled ones please)
  • Fancy sweet biscuits
  • Pringles or similar
  • Cheesy biscuits or similar
  • Nuts
  • Dried fruit (e.g. apricots, figs etc)
  • Tinned ham
  • Tinned tuna/salmon
  • Sweet pickles
  • Jam
  • Shower gel or shampoo
  • Christmas crackers

Please ensure that

  • all items fit in one bag
  • there are no perishables in the bag and that all items have a use by date of 25th December or later
  • there are no home-made items

The times available for dropping off your hamper are

Tuesdays from 10am – 12pm and Fridays 10am – 12pm from now until Friday 15th December

The Foodbank is located at The West End Community Centre (at the back of St Barnabus Church) on Westminster Road where it meets Regent Road in Morecambe.

We ask that all people who wish to donate a hamper register with us via the EventBrite link below, so that we know how many we can expect.

This helps us to understand how many hampers we can supply to families in need and also to plan for the distribution of the hampers.

Thank you so, so much for your support!
