The Doosan Babcock teams at Heysham 1 and Heysham 2 have been working together to collect food for Morecambe Bay Foodbank and on Thursday, September 7th they donated an astonishing 500kg of food! It’s an incredible amount of stock for us and their hard work and contribution are just fantastic! 500kg of food equates to 780 meals, a fabulous donation that is much needed.
As you can see from the pictures, our shelves are almost empty of some items so this has been a fantastic boost to our stock. We need as many donations as we can get at the moment as demand is very high.
Thanks are due to Mark Pacholczak at Doosan Babcock, Louise Downham (from the EDF Energy department) and all the staff at the power station for giving up their time and money to help people in need in Morecambe. 500kg of food will help us make up a great number of food parcels for people in need and thanks are also due to Asda who opened a special till so that they could check out all the food together!
The team arrived this morning with a lorry to drop off all the food and it took a while to get it all up to our storage rooms so thanks to them for helping with that too. Below are some pictures of the guys – thank you so much, it makes a real difference to us and to local people.
